We have lots of fun fashion features to share with you for the rest of this week on WRC, one being all the bridal buzz surrounding the recent {Surprise Wedding} of one of world’s most famous social media guru’s, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, to his longtime sweetheart Pricilla Chan. The two tied the knot this past weekend at their Palo Alto home, completely surprising all of their 100 some odd guests, who had thought they would be attending a graduation soiree for Pricilla’s recent completion from medical school. Instead, they witnessed a backyard wedding that Pricilla{known as ‘Cilla to her close friends} and Mark had been planning, filled with all of their favorite things. We {LOVE} the beautiful couture Claire Pettibone gown that Pricilla wore, Sky Between The Branches{from her Fall 2010 collection}. The ivory colored, illusion neckline gown is full of amazing intricate cut embroidery work and detailed laser-cut work {including the alluring sheer laser-cut floral back} that Claire‘s designs are so well-known for. We adored her latest Spring 2013 collection, Windsor Rose China, we recently saw at NYC Bridal Market this past April; all inspired by vintage family heirlooms such as: antique fabrics and china patterns. The collection is filled with lots of romantic french lace, lovely cinched bodices, amazing gold and blue-thread embroidery work throughout with amazing detailed elements. Many of the gowns also feature amazing detailed sheer back embroidery. As with all her collections, this one definitely make us swoon!
We are thrilled that Pricilla and Mark opted for a more low-key celebration {even though Facebook founder Mark is a billionaire} surrounded by all their nearest and dearest friends, with a reception filled with all their favorite things. They chose to keep their ceremony and celebration personal, with touches such as their family dog {Beast} walking Pricilla down the aisle, they both wrote their own vows, and Mark himself designed Pricilla’s unique ruby wedding ring. Guests enjoyed a reception filled with their food favorites from , all served family style. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they opted to treat guests to one of their favorite desserts, individual chocolate mice from Burdick Chocolate. The take-away message here to all the NC Brides, focus on creating your wedding celebration that is filled with what is meaningful and personal to both of you, and what you want to share with your loved ones. It could be your favorite colors, alma mater, family traditions, family food favorites, a unique venue that is meaningful to you both. Whatever those unique elements may be, incorporate them into your wedding day, and stay true to who you both are as a couple.
